Half title, title printed in red and black, 50 plates by Max Beerbohm, all but the last two mounted, 2-pages of publisher’s advertisements at the end (first few leaves and the last two plates spotted). Original green pictorial cloth gilt. Provenance: Cecil, Christmas 1913 (signature on front free endpaper); initials (“[?]B.W.P.”) beneath in a different hand. FIRST EDITION, first impression. FIRST EDITION of this celebrated comic satire and Beerbohm’s only novel. According to E. M.
