April 26, 1775-Dated Revolutionary War Era, Partially-Printed Document Signed, "Thos. & Isaac Wharton," Philadelphia, Issued in the Week After Lexington & Concord, Choice Very Fine.
This is a very rare 1775 dated Revolutionary War Period Insurance Document, 1 page, measuring 13" x 16.5", assuring protection against, "Seas, Men of War, Fires, Enemies, Pirates, Rovers, Thieves, Jettisons ... and all other Perils, Losses and Misfortunes..." issued for a Ship captained by William Wyer, later an American prisoner held in the notorious British prison ship, "Old Jersey." Small paper loss at folds, which have been professionally conserved on blank verso with archival tape. Overall, in bright clean choice condition with bold, dark writing, attractive in eye appeal making this example perfect for display. Of important historical note, this Document is dated and Issued in the same Week following the opening Battle of the American Revolution at Lexington & Concord!
