July 31, 1807-Dated, Partially-Printed Document Signed, "B Lincoln," as Collector, Port of Boston and Charlestown, MA, 5" x 9.75," Choice About New. An Import Certificate for the Betsy Brown, an American vessel carrying wine from Bordeaux. Countersigned by Inspector T. Melvill. On fine, laid paper, with embossed seal at upper left. Signed in dark brown ink and very clean. T. Melvill was the grandfather of Herman Melville (author of "Moby Dick" and other books).
