More About this Item

Sold without registration papers Chassis n° 9839 C - Restored by renowned French specialist - Invoices totalling 55 000 € - Torquey engine - No reserve This De Dion Bouton cabriolet was acquired during the 1980s by the vendors' father. It was then in original condition, correctly preserved and complete, and the coachwork appears to be original. The car comes without registration papers, however the four-cylinder engine is stamped 1912 and the 66 x 120 bore and stroke corresponds to 9 or 10bhp. In 2009, the owner took the De Dion Bouton to the workshop of Jean-Luc Bonnefoy, in Orval (Cher), the internationally renowned specialist for a major restoration. The accompanying file details the extent of the work carried out, through invoices totalling 55 000 €, and a selection of photographs. The car was taken apart, the bodywork stripped, and every part was checked and replaced if necessary, to ensure a perfect result. With its correctly shaped and very pretty body, driving the car takes one back to the rhythm of a different era, and provides the opportunity to take part in the camaraderie of vintage car rallies. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CAR IS SOLD WITHOUT A TECHNICAL INSPECTION.
