Description: 1958 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL avec hardtop

- One owner for the last 36 years
- Nicely patinated following its restoration
- Large file of invoices

Thirty- six years have passed since the current owner bought this lovely 190 SL. A story that began in 1980 when the owner, a journalist from Paris who was then 26 years old, acquired the car from the London Garage in Nîmes, managed at the time by Jean-Claude Morin, a well-known enthusiast in the area. It had covered just 15 000 km and was presented in red and beige. In the mid 1990s, having used the car for over 15 years, the owner had it restored by the Garage du Viaduc in Meudon. The body was dismantled, stripped and treated. Much mechanical work was also carried out, notably to the shock absorbers, starter, alternator and radiator. The Weber carburettors were overhauled. To perfect the appearance of the car, the chrome-work was also restored. Since then, the car has been preserved carefully and used sparingly. It presents very well, with no visible sign of corrosion, and the doors align well. Today the car is presented in light grey with a black leather interior. It has the third transverse passenger seat and sought-after dashboard clock and a functioning Becker radio. There is a comprehensive file of bills dating back to 1980 including details of recent repair work to the brakes and the adaption of a stainless steel exhaust. While not immaculate, the condition and lovely history of this 190 SL make it highly attractive.
