French registration Chassis n° DB5/1766/L Engine n° 400/1745 - The car built by the factory for the 1964 Paris Motor Show - An Aston Martin of French origin - Just three owners since 1967 - Matching numbers - Superbly patinated original interior First appearing in 1963, the Aston Martin DB5 will always be an icon of the 1960s, notably for its role in the famous James Bond film " Goldfinger ", which brought the marque as much notoriety as its sporting prowess. A direct descendent of the DB4, subtly restyled, it was given a larger straight-six engine, with four cylinders producing 286 bhp. This DB5 coupé had auspicious beginnings. Destined for the French market, it was built to represent the marque at the 1964 Paris Motor Show. The factory sheet records it as the " Paris show car " coming with an Ace " Silver Peak " exhibition plate lettered " DB51965 ". This is one of the rare left-hand drive models from the total production of 1 021 examples. Originally presented in an unusual shade of light yellow, with red Connolly leather interior, it came with optional chrome
