Description:

Janelle McComb was a close personal friend of the Presley family and the longtime director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation. This distinguished 18k yellow gold, nugget-style men's ring was a gift from Elvis to Janelle in 1971. It has a central relief portrait of Caesar encircled by 17 diamonds, each measuring 2 mm and weighing 0.03 carat, surrounded by an additional 16 diamonds, each measuring 2 mm and weighing 0.03 carat, in the bezel. Caesar's head wreath is studded with five diamonds, each measuring 1 mm and weighing 0.01 carat This grand size 10 ring is engraved "Elvis" inside the ring, behind the wreath area.

The ring is offered with a handwritten letter from Janelle Mc Comb to her son Blair dated February 16, 2002, in which she not only relays the significance and value of the ring, but further mentions that "He took it off his finger and gave it to me 31 years ago. He said someday you will have a grandson - give it to him or let Roy wear it. He knew your mother was pregnant before he did."

Also included is a note from Jack Soden, president and CEO of Elvis Presley Enterprises, in which Jack pens, "Congratulations on receiving the beautiful ring that Elvis gave Janelle many years ago as a Graduation gift. The ring is a treasure and it is fitting that it become yours. This ring was worn by Elvis and one of his favorites." Janelle certainly held a special place in Elvis' heart throughout the years so it's only fitting that he would bestow her and her children with one of his most treasured jewels.

The ring, with a total weight of 32.4 grams, is accompanied by two images of Elvis wearing the ring and one negative of Elvis gifting the ring to Janelle in the living room at Graceland. The negative was obtained directly from the McComb family. This rare negative measures 3 3/4 by 2 1/2 inches (9.52 x 6.35 cm). This stately ring, the letters of provenance and the strong images are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Condition Report: The ring is in excellent condition overall.
