Vintage Malcolm Moran Bronze Sculpture
1972-Dated, Malcolm Moran Bronze Sculpture titled, "Sand Castle," Choice Extremely Fine.
Rare Malcolm Moran original Bronze sculpture "Sand Castle" from 1972. It has lovely beautiful patina, and it has a sweet subject..a young girl and her baby brother building a sand castle. Mounted on wood base. Stands 4" tall, with a base of about 7" x 4.5". Gold label on bottom bears Moran's logo and copyright along with the 1972 date.
Moran is a well known sculptor from Carmel, California. While in California, President & Mrs. Ford made a personal visit to his studio to invite him to appear at the White House for a one man show in coordination with the State Dinner for Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Malcolm's sculptures were loaned by his famous collectors Ethel Kennedy, Senator John Glenn, Actor Clint Eastwood, Nelson Rockefeller, Ambassador Leonard Firestone and Bing Crosby.
