Condition / Notes: This is the first American edition of this set. The antique volumes are bound in green cloth covers with blindstamped lettering on the spines. There is light rubbing concentrated at the extremities. The second volume has a crack in the rear hinge. The first volume has solid binding. The text blocks are solid. Each volume contains a tissue-guarded frontispiece. The pages show mild age toning and occasional light marginal spotting. The works are profusely illustrated with tissue-guarded plates and textual illustrations (woodcuts).
The books are protected by clear mylar dust jackets.
