Condition / Notes: This antique set is bound in full leather with blindstamped ornamentation to the covers and stamped gilt lettering to the spine. Each volume has four raised bands. There is light to moderate external wear. The bindings are sound. The armorial bookplate of Edmondus Newdigate is affixed to the front pastedowns. The pages show mild to moderate age toning and scattered spotting/foxing. The work is profusely illustrated with a fold-out frontispiece engraving and numerous engraved plates. The work contains an index and an appendix.
