More About this Item

Description: The mahogany Chris Craft pulled along side the dock for a fill-up. Jimbo was waiting on the dock with his skies. He was a seasoned water skier, but his dad, Ernest, who was driving the boat was always trying to get him to take it to the next level. It was a battle of wills and water talent. Jimbo loaded both skies into the boat, though he hadn't skied on two skis for years. He was an excellent slalom skier. It was one of his few days off and he and Ernest were going to play. They found a nice quiet cove with wooden boat houses that floated on old drums and Styrofoam. Jimbo had already popped the ring tab on a Schlitz and enjoyed the intermingling aromas of hops and lake water. Ernest stopped the boat and Jimbo eased down the ladder into the water wearing his hat, holding his Schlitz and smoking a cigar, Ernest asked him, "Boy, you really going to ski like that? Cuz if you are, I'm going to have a story to tell!"Jimbo said, "Yep," and Ernest gave him the ski.  Even Ernest hadn't seen this "hotdog" side of him. He waited for the ready sign and put the throttle down on the Chris Craft. Off they went. Jimbo rose out of the water with out a hitch. Then Ernest started to play. He started circling in the cove swinging  Jimbo out farther and farther each time barely missing the weathered boards of the primitive boat houses. Jimbo remained calm drinking his beer with one hand, holding the ski rope with the other. All of a sudden, Ernest made a big circle and dropped the throttle down to stop the boat. Just then, Jimbo arced around at a pretty good clip and slammed face first into the side of a neighbors boathouse. It looked like a roadrunner cartoon. Ernest nearly split his pants he was laughing so hard. When Jimbo rose out of the water, his cigar was still in his mouth, though smashed and the bill of his hat hung over his eyes. The boathouse has the impression of a hotdog to this day. These chippy peely skies are in just right condition for such a history. They still have with metal fins on the bottom and are ready for the wall of your favorite lake or beach house. They are  67" long.
