Description: Koseizan helmet bowl formed of 62 iron suji plates with russet iron surface, shinodare on the obverse. Flat, iron tehen kanamono, inscribed "Echizen Kuni Toyohara Ju Bamen Tomotsugu Saku". The elegantly curved, five-lame iron shikoro lacquered black, small fukigaeshi with the ume mon of the Kiyoka clan, green sugake lacing. The leather trim of the bottom shikoro lame missing, mabezashi minimally bent. Height 28 cm, width 34 cm. Exceptionally fine helmet made by an armourer who was active between 1688 and 1703.
