Description: dating: 19th Century
provenance: China
Finely decorated with the eight Buddhist symbols of good omen and flowers, featuring a lantern at the center. Featuring other fabrics at the sides. The decoration at the center is presumably related to the traditional Lantern Feast. See Celestial Silks, Chinese religious & court textiles; Judith Rutherford & Jackie Menzies; pag.44; obj. number 18.
