Description: Octagonal barrel with six-groove rifled bore in 9.5 mm calibre, slightly swamped at the muzzle, with dovetailed brass front sight and double folding rear sight. Chiselled flintlock with florally engraved external wheel. Spring-loaded wheel cover with shell-shaped release button. Double set trigger. Stock of light fruitwood with patch box. Rich inlays of engraved and blackened bone in the shape of tendrils, animals, masks and hunting scenes. The patch box and bottom of the forestock decorated with male figure in contemporary costume. Original wooden ramrod with bone tip and threaded iron sleeve. The underside of the butt with brand mark of the House of Salm. Several inlays and the iron trigger guard replaced. Length 90 cm. Arms collection Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck, Christie's, London 23 September 1992, part II, lot 435.
