Description: An exceptional exhibition standard 1/24th-scale model of this aircraft as built under test at Warnemünde in March 1918. This scratch-built composition construction model of W20-1552 of Seeflug-Versuchs-Kommando at Warnemünde, circa March 1918 is finished in national camouflage and markings of the period, cockpit details include seat with harness, control wheel, instruments and windshield. The finely modelled seven-cylinder radial with laminated wood pusher propeller, the strut braced main planes with fuel tank, bracing wires and associated accessories, complete with ground-handling trolley and rear fuselage trestle support, wingspan of 28.5 cm. Together with the gold medal of the Model Engineer Exhibition 1987. This aircraft was designed by Ernst Heinkel for submarines. For accommodation in a submarine, the aircraft had to be small and to set up and dismantled fast, the W.20 managed this in less than four, respectively two minutes. The Oxford Mail wrote 2014 about this model: "He was also later awarded the scratch building trophy by the body for his impressive rendering of a model Hansa-Brandenberg DW20, which originally flew in 1918. Mr Clements had carved the twin-blade "pusher" propeller for the model from a piece of ash and the spokes of the beaching trolley were made from copper wire". With presentation tablet. Due to the many fragile details very difficult to ship, if possible we recommend a personal transport. Tony Clements Collection. Anthony Clements (1938 - 2014), one of the most famous model artists in England, cf. http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/community/obituaries/obits/11522519.Model_maker_won_awards_for_his_eye_for_detail/
