Description: A JAPANESE IVORY AND BONE TRAVELLING SHRINE, LATE 19TH CENTURY NOT SUITABLE FOR EXPORT
of pagoda form, the central section set with a pair of carved hinged doors opening to reveal a seated deity, the reverse with a dragon amongst clouds, raised on a balustraded stepped pedestal carved with dragons, bats, fruit and lotus blossoms, the outswept roof with a mythical bird amongst clouds and lotus blossoms, finial lacking 31cm high
