Description: Five panel navy blue silk backed in blue cotton with 10 mm flat gold tress bordering upper and lower edges completed with gold fringe (4.5 cm) and tassels (12 cm) along lower edge. A 5 mm vertically applied flat gold tress separates the panels. The centre panel is embroidered with gold metal wire naval eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted swastika in its talons, encompassed by an oakleaf wreath. Below in matching embroidery is the unit "IV. Marineartillerieabteilung". Applied to each panel adjacent to centre panel is the unit insignia consisting of a pair of light blue silk shields with matching coloured thread highlights and embroidered gold metal wire crossed anchors below the number "4". Outer panels consist of gold metal wire embroidered naval eagles with outstretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted swastika in its talons, encompassed by an oakleaf wreath. Complete with black leather attachment strap, buckle and eight black cotton ties along upper edge. Dimensions 200 x 30 cm (without fringe). Impressive early piece of superb quality and extreme rarity. The 4th Marine Artillery Battalion was based in Cuxhaven. In 1939, it was broken up into numerous marine flak units spread around north German port towns (Sylt, Wilhelmshaven, Hörnum, Brunsbüttel, Westerland, Cuxhaven, Wesermünde etc). Shipping from USA
