Description: A mid 18th Century engraved brass, iron and fruitwood flintlock tinder pistol or table 'strike-a-light'. English, circa 1750, by J. Savige, Wolverhampton. Having a fruitwood butt with bulbous end, carved on its upper face with notches, the brass signed lockplate fitted to the left with a hinged door and shaped iron catch. The engraved name rubbed, ...AVIGE .....MPTON, mounted to the other side with exposed iron mechanism lock, raised on a U shape pillar, 20cm long
