Description: A nice Greek Tanagra robed female with hood, c. 4th-3rd Century BC, indicating that she may be a bride. She stands tall with reserved features. One hand is tucked beneath her robe at the waist, with the other resting on her stomach. A vibrant original pigment remains across her abdomen, with white pigment around the rest of the front of the body. H: 6 1/3 in (16.2cm). Ex collection of Henry Honychurch Gorringe (1841-1885); later consigned to the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, MA.
