This impressive pair of vases is in fair restored condition, with chips, marks and scratches to the surface of the alabaster - notably the edges, corners and finials - consistent with age and use. One vase with a replaced handle which has been fashioned from resin and has a good likeness to the alabaster. The rim of the socle of the same vase has been restored and partially rebuilt with resin, possibly as a result of a break with the body. The other vase with a repaired break to one handle. Each vase has been filled with a cement like material for increased stability. Overall the pitted areas with residual dirt and the surface with old marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
