Description: Odakote with fine kusari on blue-gold brocade, black lacquered, large hyotan gane and ikada, on the tekko the kutsuwa mon of the Shimazu clan. Blue cloth lining with floral pattern. Slight signs of age and use, one hinge of the hira kamurita broken. Length of each piece 63 cm. Before the Meiji Restoration the Shimazu were, beside the Tokugawa family, the most powerful clan in Japan.
