U.V. light reveals some areas of overpainting and retouching, notably to external edges and next to the Sultan's face (canvas seems to have been fixed in this area as canvas was laid down on a new stretcher), the lower section with some repainting (possibly as a result of re-stretching when mounted on later canvas), the signature and eye also with touching-up, as viewed.
