ALEKSEY SERGEYEVICH LEVIN (RUSSIAN 1893-1965) Sun Salutation, 1966, charcoal on paper, 23 x 15 1/16 in ( 58 1/2 x 38 1/2 cm), certified and dated on verso.
Levin was a Russian and Soviet Avant-garde graphic artist and a member of the circle of Mayakovsky, Rodchenko, Maliutin. He worked on producing posters for "Windows of Growth" of Mayakovsky. He received the highest award Grand Prix for design of the Soviet Pavillion at World Exhibition in Paris.
