Description: Exceptionally fine helmet bowl formed of 64 domed suji plates with russet iron surface, inscribed "Myochin Yashiro Yoshiomi", the inscription repeated on the mempo and the kote. Six-stage gilt tehen kanamono with engraved decoration. Five-lame black lacquered iron ko manju shikoro in kizuke kozane with leather covered fukigaeshi, like the entire armour with green and blue kebiki lacing. Elaborately pierced kuwagata dai with kuwagata and one maidate with the shitsume mon of the Morikawa clan (differing from the mon on the kote). Associated iron mempo of Ubaho-type with interior lacquered red and four-lame yodare kake, also in kizuke kozane. A pair of tsutsu kote with hinges in the form of butterflies, on the upper arm guard and the tekko a hoshi and ogi mon of the Watanabe in iron sukashi. Roku mai ryo takahimo do with dragon uchidashi on the breast plate trimmed with smooth, gilt fukurin (the connection pins partially replaced). Seven-piece, five-lame kusazuri. Seven-lame chu sode with finely engraved mounts and five-lame kawara haidate of black lacquered leather. Tsutsu suneate with sukashi of chidori over waves, also closed by hinges in butterfly form. Including a pair of unassociated kogake. Brocade worn and with signs of age, partially smaller repairs and replacements, fastening loops and toggles partially missing.
