Description: Curved, grooved single-edged blade with double-edged point. On both sides beautiful, partly gilt etching with flower ornaments. Russian double-headed eagle with manufacturer's mark for Zlatoust on the obverse, trophy bundle on the reverse. Gilt brass hilt engraved with inscription (tr.) "For Bravery" in Cyrillic script on one side, fluted black wooden grip (minor flaws). Black leather scabbard (signs of age, leather possibly of later date) with gilt brass fittings, on the locket applied, partly enamelled gilt miniature of the Order of St. Anna. Drag possibly not original, blade somewhat stained. Length 95 cm. Allegedly from the estate of Eugene Mollo. Cf. Eugene Mollo, Russian Military Swords, p. 36, ill. 25. Very rare.
