Description: Blade shinogi zukuri, o kissaki, distinctive torii zori. O notare hamon. Mokume hada, boshi o maru with short kaeri. Bonji and ken horimono. Beautiful kesho polish. Nakago ubu, one mekugi ana, sujikai yasurime, inscribed "Minamoto Tsunayoshi" (TSU 337, 15 points), gilt copper habaki. Negoro lacquer saya with Ise-ebi chape, the mounts of embossed, gilt brass with scrolling karakusa tendril design. Only one obitori, as the wakizashi was carried in a European fashion hanging from the belt. Punched and gilt aoigata brass tsuba, tsuka fitted with same and mounted with gilt shishi menuki. Mounting from the late Edo period, circa 1870. Length k/m 46.5 cm, total length 73 cm.
