Description: 11-inch dial with double cherub and crown spandrels linked by foliate engraving, signed John Barnett, London, finely matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, engraved date aperture and ringed winding holes, the movement with seven knopped and ringed pillars, five wheel trains, anchor escapement, outside count wheel striking on a bell, the case with marquetry inlaid domed caddy cresting and giltwood finials above a moulded cornice, foliate frieze fret and plain hood pilasters, the rectangular trunk door with a glazed lenticle and inlaid with panels of bird and flower marquetry, the similarly inlaid plinth on bun feet, the sides crossbanded and divided into panels
Dial in good condition. Movement is complete and appear to retain the original wheelwork throughout, it appears clean and looks as though it would run. Case in generally good restored condition, finials replaced, old repairs and restorations to cracks and marquetry. With pendulum, 2 brass-cased weights and door key but no winder.
