Description: Artist: LUCIEN BAYLAC (1851-1913) Size: 46 1/2 x 62 in./118.1 x 157.5 cm Imp. Kossuth, Paris This French bicycle brand takes its name from an obscure piece of German history: Veleda was a 1st century priestess who predicted that her people would rise up and defeat the Romans. Hovering above the handlebars of the bike is a bird of prey crowned with the Latin phrase "woe to chains," indicating that this is a chainless model. (bicycle, bike)
