Description: no 204 of 365 copies on hand-made paper, signed by Douglas and Acton, in addition inscribed by Acton to Denis Mack Smith on front free endpaper, frontispiece, original cloth, large gilt device on front cover, foot of spine and covers little rubbed & sunned, dust-wrapper, little torn at head of spine and frayed at foot, and subbed, 8vo, Florence , 1930. Scandalouis 18th century memoir of Gian Gastone, the last ruling prince of the Medici dynasty; inscribed by its translator to Denis Mack Smith (b. 1920), the leading historian of 19th & 20th century Italy, 'a curious little souvenir of his Florentine admirer'.
