More About this Item

Description: 1930 PARIS. Action de F100. yellow, red, black. #15000. No 10675. Two folds and some tiny edge-splits. Founded Paris, 1930, by Maurice Satineau, the député for Guadeloupe in Paris. Satineau was later convicted by a Paris court with regard to the company’s affairs, for trying to sell in Dahomey the company shares in his name. A striking piece, in strong colour. Design shows a European and an African together carrying a heavy basket of bananas and various other African fruit, suggesting the main activity of the company. We doubt if this often happened in practice. Only this one piece was recently discovered. Rarity 12.
