Description: Albatros C-III, Code No C 106, a fine and impressive scratch-built flying scale model of this general purpose aircraft, the wood airframe with strut and wire braced mainplanes covered with fine fabric, the upper fuselage surface with thin wood skin, the sides and undersurface with fine fabric, the model pilot and observer/gunner in their cockpits, the latter with Parabellum machine gun and ammunition belt, the six-cylinder Mercedes model engine with box-type radiator and over-the-upper-plane exhaust stack, with 61 cm diameter wood propeller (no engine fitted), on strut-braced main undercarriage with rubber tyres and sprung tail skid, finished in cream/sand over brown and national markings of the period, 292 cm wingspan. The Albatros C-III was powered by either 150 hp Benz or 160 hp/180 hp Mercedes aero-engines. A bomb load, carried in chutes, could be included in the equipment of this successful and versatile aircraft.
