Description: An excellent Pre-Columbian comb, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. This rare weaving tool is 4-1/2 in long, 3-1/4 in wide. Beautifully made from split reed, most likely Carrizo, with sharpened points on both sides. This rare textile weaving tool is bound with the brown and tan braided thread typical of Chancay textile manufacture and even retains a bit of hair. Choice example. Ex Gallatin estate.
