Description: Hand-forged, band-shaped spring steel, the thickness of the limbs tapering from the grip and the width swelling and subsiding, grooves cut along the crests of the curves (presumably to reduce weight and guide the string on the back where the curve meets the base of the ears). Flat, pointed ears, the outer surface ridged in the middle where they meet the limbs. The bellied grip made of two riveted ebony grip panels, both on a brass base. Signs of age and handling. Length 105 cm. Beautifully preserved bow, designed to be used, shaped like a braced Indian composite bow. Karl Zeilinger Collection.
