Description: Heavy tachi blade, ubu, shinogi zukuri, o kissaki, torii zori. Wide bohi on both sides. Togari choji midare hamon, fine mokume hada, midare komi boshi with short kaeri. Nakago ubu, two mekugi ana, sujikai yasurime, inscribed "Satsuma Han Oku Motohira", (MOT 12 (?), 70 points). Perfect kesho polish. Gilt copper habaki. Shirasaya. Black leather covered, horizontally ribbed saya, iron mounts with gold nunome kiri mon, the leather obitori missing. The tachi tsuba replaced by an aoigata katana tsuba with similar decoration. Tsuka fitted with same and mounted with a pair of gilt dragon menuki, glued. Restored cord wrap, tsunagi. Mounting from the late Edo period. Length k/m 73.6 cm, total length 106 cm.
