Description: Iron helmet bowl formed of 26 flat suji plates, the plates studded with sturdy, blunt hoshi (rivets). The exterior lacquered black, the interior gilt. Uninscribed. The other parts, with the exception of the two lower lames of the shikoro, partially replaced in modern times with older parts. Five-stage tehen kanamono and agemaki-no-kan with agemaki. Mabezashi and fukigaeshi applied with same, on it an unattributed mon. Three-lame ko manju shikoro of kozane, the inner lame replaced with polyester, lacquered black with blue/beige kebiki lacing. Leather helmet lining, helmet band missing. Very authentic Edo period copy of a 15th century o-yoroi. Completely made of black lacquered, real leather kozane, with slightly faded red lacing. Leather of exceptionally fine shishigawa and shobugawa. Fire-gilt openwork mounts with byo in the form of chrysanthemums, the edges with fukurin trim. Consisting of the do, wakidate with kusazuri, sendan and kiubi no ita with the aoi mon of the Tokugawa, with a pair o sode and three disconnected kusazuri. Parts of the armour with different signs of age and use and partially improper repairs.
