Description: Large early, 1st millennium B.C., ovoid cabochon lapis stone set in an Islamic gold setting, ca. 12th-14th century A.D. Setting is decorated with a fine pattern of individually cut and set tiny gold circular elements with faux braided borders. Areas of light encrustation and surface patina.
