Antique Gold, Peridot and Ruby Brooch
Composed of brushed and polished openwork scrolled design centering one cut-cornered emerald-cut peridot approximately 2.50 cts., suspending one pear-shaped peridot approximately 2.30 cts., accented by five oval and cushion-shaped rubies, circa 1840, reverse with small glazed compartment with mourning hair, one ruby missing. With fitted box.
Emerald-cut peridot: light yellow-green, lighter in cener, slightly included, lively.
Pear-shaped peridot: bright medium lime green, cleanish, chipped culet, nice shape and cut, lively.
Rubies: medium pinkish-red, one missing.
Rich yellow gold color.
Good condition. Normal wear. 2 3/16 x 1 5/16 inches.
