Antique Gold, Portrait Enamel and Diamond 'King of Calcutta' Hunting Case Pocket Watch
18 kt., manual wind, pin-set, the front cover depicting a portrait of an Indian Maharajah with crown and feather, bordered by applied blue enamel with gold floral scroll pattern, quartered by rose-cut diamonds, diameter approximately 50 mm., opening to reveal a white porcelain dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and outer minute track indicator, with Swiss hallmark, circa 1880.
The movement is currently running, but not guaranteed to be in working order. 3/4 plate gilt movement.
Light scratches slightly visible on portrait. Light scratches on reverse gold case, visible to eye. One small ding on back cover on left upper edge.
Overall good condition. Diameter 2 inches.
