More About this Item

Description: A large section of Kapton foil Approximately 12" x 14" removed from the LM-5's decent stage just days before launch while staged inside the Saturn V rocket at Launch pad 39-A. This repair was to replace several squib valves that failed during the Countdown demonstration test (CDDT). This lot is accompanied by a copy of letter of appreciation notating this repair and a copy of a COA by Lee Brandt member of Grumman's lunar module support team for all Apollo missions who has kept this memento of the Apollo 11 mission since he removed it more then 45 years ago.
