Description: ARCHIBALD KNOX (1864-1933) FOR LIBERTY & CO., LONDON
TERRACOTTA JARDINIÈRE AND STAND, CIRCA 1902
the cylindrical jardinière with four handles and moulded in relief with scrolls and Celtic knots, raised on the matching stand, of square section with corresponding mouldings, stamped maker's marks to jardinière and base DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED BY LIBERTY & CO. (2)
55cm diameter, 148cm high

Condition Report: Generally good order and appearance and impressive scale, clearly marked
Piece has been outdoors so surface is weathered.
Jardiniere: One or two old chips to the rim
Interior with evidence of use and with surface dirt
One or two light abrasions to exterior decoration at high points
Separate capital: Stable crack across capital, chip to one corner and to one side
Stand: Several chips of varying sizes and abrasions to edges corners and high points here and there.
Separate base: One shallow chip to upper edge and one or two to one upper angle, and general small abrasions here and there. Hairline crack running from the foot rim into the base and several other minor fine fissures here and there.
