Description: Archives des familles Baraudin, Vigny et alliées [XVIe-XIXe siècles]. Ens. près de 500 p. in-12, in-8, in-4, in-folio et in-plano (dimensions diverses), sur papier et parchemin. Important ensemble de documents, en grande majorité manuscrits, relatifs aux ancêtres paternels et maternels d''Alfred de Vigny et à plusieurs familles alliées à ceux-ci (Nogerée, Clérambault, Bougainville, Marcadé, etc. ). Ces archives concernent plus particulièrement la famille Baraudin, celle de la mère du poète, d''origine piémontaise, anoblie par le duc de Savoie en 1512 et confirmée dans sa noblesse par François Ier en 1543. Plusieurs membres de ce lignage ou leurs alliés ayant servi dans la Marine, de nombreux documents ont trait à l''histoire maritime française. Ces archives sont aussi étroitement liées à l''histoire du Maine-Giraud, le domaine charentais acquis par le grand-père maternel de Vigny. On trouve notamment dans cet ensemble : l''acte d''anoblissement d''Emmanuel de Baraudini par Charles III, duc de Savoie (25 février 1512 - parchemin joliment calligraphié portant une représentation peinte des armoiries octroyées au nouvel anobli) ; l''acte de confirmation de noblesse du même par François Ier (10 juin 1543) ; des actes notariés, contrats de mariage et inventaires divers ; des lettres familiales ou d''affaires ; des brevets et des ordres de missions en faveur de Didier-François-Honorat de Baraudin, grand-père du poète, qui acheva sa carrière comme chef d''escadre ; plusieurs journaux de bord tenus par celui-ci (juin-juillet 1764, janvier-juin 1767, décembre 1776-novembre 1777, juin-août 1779), des relations de batailles navales et des états de service ; l''acte d''achat du Maine-Giraud en 1768, un aveu et dénombrement des terres, des registres de comptes, un catalogue de la bibliothèque (1785, 4 p. ) ou encore un plan aquarellé des jardins de la propriété (fin du XVIIIe siècle) ; les preuves réunies par Sophie de Baraudin, tante de Vigny, pour être admise parmi les chanoinesses de l''Ordre de Malte et des documents liés au Maine-Giraud lorsqu''elle en fut propriétaire ; un manuscrit de souvenirs militaires de Gaston de Nogerée (Saintes, 17 février 1840), etc. Quelques chemises avec des annotations d''Alfred de Vigny dont on connaît l''intérêt pour l''histoire de ses ancêtres et la noblesse de ses origines. Dans ses Mémoires inédits, le poète fait d''ailleurs plusieurs fois référence à ces papiers de famille, notamment lorsqu''il rapporte les propos de sa tante Sophie sur l''origine de leur ancêtre Emmanuel de Baraudini : "Quelle était cette naissance si haute ? Je n''en ai jamais rien su. Il était de tradition dans notre famille que le premier Baraudini venu en France et dont le nom francisé devint naturellement de Baraudin, était fils d''un prince de la Maison de Savoie, Carignan, et d''une femme italienne à qui il était fort légitimement marié, mais dont le mariage n''étant pas approuvé par le souverain chef de la famille fut regardé comme nul. C''est ce qui se nomme, autant qu''il me semble, mariage morganatique. Toujours est-il qu''il était fort réel et catholique et que les Baraudini faisaient grande figure à la cour de François Ier". Quant aux liens étroits entre les Baraudin et la Royale, ils font la fierté de la même "chanoinesse" qui proclame à son jeune neveu, états de service à l''appui : "Mon père fut aussi marin que son père. Ta famille maternelle, mon ami, est une famille de tritons dont les hommes ont beaucoup plus vécu sur l''eau que sur terre". Otherwise, Artcurial can advise appropriate clearing agent and shippers. Please notice that shipping wines towards some specific countries as USA is very difficult (various constraints related to customs regulation) or impossible.

Taxes and VAT: In addition of the lot's hammer price, the buyer must pay the following costs and fees/taxes:

Lots from the EEC:
• From €1 to €30,000: 25% + current VAT (for books, VAT = 1,375%; for other categories, VAT = 5%).
• From €30,001 to €1,200,000: 20% + current VAT (for books, VAT = 1,1%; for other categories, VAT = 4%).

In addition to the commissions and taxes indicated above, an additional import VAT will be charged (7% of the hammer price, 20% for jewelry and watches, motorcars, wines and spirits and multiples).
The taxes (VAT on commissions and VAT on importation) can be retroceded to the purchaser on presentation of written proof of exportation outside the EEC.
An EEC purchaser who will submit his intra-Community VAT number will be exempted from paying the VAT on commissions.
The payment of the lot will be made cash, for the whole of the price, costs and taxes, even when an export licence is required.
