With rosy pink wings, an orange tail, and a naked, blotchy, scaly grayish-green head, the Roseate Spoonbill is at once beautiful and bizarre. ?When I sold this image to Lauren Bacall, 35 years ago, she called it ?marvelous? as she directed I hang it for her over a portrait of Humphrey Bogart in her apartment at the Dakota.? - Graham Arader.
