Condition / Notes: This antique volume is signed by British Commissioner Noel J. Ogilvie and U. S. Commissioner James H. Van Wagenen on page III, page 187, and page 188. The work is bound in half leather with green cloth boards, gilt lettering and pictorial design to the front cover, gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, and five raised bands. This volume displays external wear, with rubbing to the covers and edges, light fading to the spine, and a large ripple in the cloth on the rear cover.
The binding is sound, and the hinges have been reinforced with cloth. The volume is adorned with marbled endpapers. Light rippling can be seen on a several pages at the front and rear of the work. The volume is internally clean and bright, with photo illustrations and three fold-out maps, two of which are in color. A crease appears in the bottom corner of pages 573-584. This volume contains indices.
