Book Details: An intimate look at shipboard life aboard trans-Atlantic sailing ships in the first half f the 19th century. There are also observations on places visited, including Bermuda, Spain, Madeira, and others, as well as a narrative of the Battle of Corunna and its aftermath.
Condition / Notes: This volume contains series I through III of "a new edition" of this work. The antique volume has been handsomely recased with the original light brown leather boards and a tan leatherette spine with the original leather spine cover (showing stamped gilt lettering/ornamentation and raised bands) laid down. The exterior shows light to moderate rubbing/toning. The binding is solid.

The book has marbled edges and endpapers. The pages show mild age toning and occsaional light foxing. The work is illustrated with several textual figures and one fold-out table.

The volume is protected by a clear mylar dust jacket.
