Description: A beautiful Egyptian beaded pectoral net with winged scarab, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, which would have been sewn onto the front of the bandages of a mummy. The scarab and all the beads with varying degrees of preserved turquoise glaze. Length of net to end of scarab, L: 20 1/4 in (51.4cm). Width of scarab (wing tip to wing tip): 5 in (12.8cm). Scarab L: 2 1/2 in (6.5cm). Ex Detroit private collection.
