Description: Beautiful antique Birge, Peck & Co. Double Decker mahogany shelf clock, Bristol, CT. Early brass works 8 day, weight driven clock, with raised carved splat, fruit bowl with gold gilt, original hand painted dial, reverse painted center glass reads "Franklin College, Athens, George", reverse painted bottom glass with eagle and fruit. Interior label "Extra Eight Day Rolling Pinion Steel Pivot Brass Clocks; Made and Sold by Birge, Peck & Co., Bristol, CT. ", has additional label, "Myers Clock Shop, 539 New St., Spring City, PA." Burled and gold gilt half columns, measures approx. 33 1/2" tall x 16" wide x 5" deep.
