c. 1770-80s Revolutionary War Era, Camp Copper Teapot with Iron Legs & Dovetail Seams, with Wooden Handle, Choice Very Fine.
This rare decorative Revolutionary War era officers camp copper Teapot has three attached by rivet iron legs and dovetail seams, standing about 8" tall with a diameter of about 5.5" wide. Previously cleaned, having an even rich deep copper patina. Beautiful dovetailed copper seams, complete with its original copper lid having a decoratively curled trim piece on top for removing, silvered interior, attached wood handle with a decorative white carved steer-bone end piece. The three iron legs are secured with copper rivets. A great looking functional spout with a special fitted lidded end flap to keep the tea hot and from spilling. A very appealing and quite rare piece, perfect for any Revolutionary War or Colonial period display.
