FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, ELEANOR ROOSEVELT, HARRY S. TRUMAN, together with more than 70 signatures of many of the significant players who shaped and enacted FDR's historic program to relive the suffering of the Great Depression.
c. 1930s, An important Collection of Autographs of the major architects of the New Deal and their associates, collected in the mid to late 1930s including President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sara D. Roosevelt, Vice President John Nance Garner, Vice President Henry A. Wallace, President (and Vice President) Harry S. Truman, Vice President Alben Barkley. The collection includes a large portion of Roosevelt's cabinet including Secretary of State Cordell Hull, Secretary of the Treasury Henry Mogenthau, Jr. and William G. McAdoo, Secretary of War George H. Dern, Secretary of the Navy Claude A Swanson, Postmaster General, James A. Farley, Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes, Secretary of Commerce, Daniel C. Roper, Attorney General, Homer Stille Cummings, Secretary of War, George H. Dern and Henry Hines Woodring, Postmaster General, James H. Farley, Ambassador to United Kingdom, Joseph P. Kennedy, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, William C. Dodd, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, and White House Press Secretary, Stephen Early.

The volume also bears the signatures of many of the heads of Roosevelt's vast array of agencies intended to mitigate the devastation wrought by the Great Depression including Robert Fechner, head of the Civilian Conservation Corps, Henry B. Steagall (1873-1943) Representative from Alabama, who co-sponsored the Glass-Steagall Act with Carter Glass that established key banking reforms and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Prominent Senators include Richard B. Russell, Robert M. La Follette, Thomas Pryor Gore, Walter F. George, John J. McSwain, Josephus Daniels, George W. Norris, Claude A. Swanson, Claude Pepper.

Other prominent figures include , Earle J. Christenhover (who identifies himself as "Secretary to the late Huey P. Long U.S.S.") as well as the late Senator's widow (and Senator) Rose McConnell Long, as well as his brother, and Governor of Louisiana, Earl Kemp Long, New York Governor Herbert Lehman, California Governor, Culbert Olson, Oregon Representative Nan Wood Honeyman, Georgia Representative B. Frank Whelchel, and many, many others.

This is a Book Signed, "Franklin D. Roosevelt," "Eleanor Roosevelt," "Harry S. Truman," et al., about 80 different Signatures in all, Very Fine. The Book: (John Franklin Carter et al) Unofficial Observer, The New Dealers (New York: The Literary Guild, 1934), ix, 414 pages, octavo, bound in titled red cloth board and spine, with original Dust Jacket. Approximately 80 Signatures are accomplished from the title page through the table of contents and forward. Photo-collage endpapers picturing many of the signers. Some wear to dust jacket including minor tears, pages lightly toned, early pages dampstained affecting some signatures but not compromising their legibility.

This volume stands as an incredible touchstone to one of the most important and far-reaching policy shifts in American political history.
