Martinus Rota" c.1566-1574, from “Isole famose, porti fortezze e terre maritime…” publ. in Venice. Numbered plate “41”. Rare, early plan of the fall of Methoni to the Ottomans in 1500, engraved by Martino Rota of Sebenico. The formation of the troops and tactical movements are presented pictorially. Map dim. 23.7 x 16.7 cm, on sheet 28 x 22.5 cm with full margins. Light vert. crease and few small spots in map. Overall strong impression and in Extremely Fine condition.
