Lot 141A: CF Monroe Wave Crest Nakara Dresser Box
23 October 2016
Bristol, CT, USALive Auction
Description: Stunning CF Monroe Wave Crest Nakara Victorian ladies dresser box. Made by the CF Monroe Company of Meriden CT in the late 1800s, this beautiful dresser box features a full cameo of fine Victorian lady, flowers, rococo glass in green, brass rings and clasp, and 4 brass feet featuring Cherub faces. Marked CFM Co Nakara on bottom of piece. The CF Monroe Company of Meriden was famous for it's Wave Crest glasswork of the finest quality. This dresser box is absolutely stunning, and is a wonderful representation of CF Monroe glass. Measures approx. 7" tall x 7" wide, looks to be small seperation in glass from ring at top of base, but may have very well made this way, as it does not look to have been broken or loose. These pieces are very rare, and the Nakara line is even rarer! You won't see one as nice as this one very often! The craftsmenship is exquisite, the detail of the cameo is exceptional!
